i traveled 3 hours to spend 5 days at camp oasis in Pennsylvania. this was the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE that i met someone other than my uncle with ibd. it was definitely one of the best weeks of my life, and i cant wait to go back next year. i miss my fellow cronies and councilors already!

I’m constantly obsessed with the future of my education, so I decided to try to write the into paragraph to a potential college essay. After thoroughly workshopping it, I saved and left the word file open. When my parents found it, they didn’t offer advise on writing, they wanted to make sure i was okay mentally. I now know that an honest description of my life is worthy of being considered a suicide note

long story short:

MY PARENTS THOUGHT MY COLLEGE ENTRANCE ESSAY WAS A SUICIDE NOTE

Survived my first colonoscopy today. Unfortunately the results weren’t good. Turns out its ulcerative pan colitis spanning my entire colon.

Doc wants to put me on 6mp. Any of you have experience with that? I hear it will help but the side effects suck and Im particularly concerned about the suppressed immune system part. Any thoughts?

I’ve been on 6mp for a few months. its hard to get the dosage right, and the worst parts of it are the nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and loss and thinning of hair… but at least you’ll start to feel more healthy

it just figures that on the morning I'm supposed to fly to FL, crohn's attacks.

I was super excited for dinner tonight.

Got in the middle of eating and started to feel that “uh-oh” pain I know all too well

So I sat and waited, praying an attack wasn’t going to come

Then after a little while of nothing, I start to get a little hungry again.

Think I’m going to be fine, and the pain comes back.

Then it goes away, and I get hungry again…

It’s been back and forth like this all night.

They have True Life everything else… what about those with IBD? People need to know about it!

Can I just put it out there that I have applied for True Life: I Have IBD before, when they had the write-in applications.

if they did that, then every kid who’s had diarrhea would be running to their physician saying that they had ibd

Even when my Crohn’s is in remission, they give me really severe stomach pain and bad diarrhea. Yuck.

Does anyone else have this problem?

YES!!! I had strep 3 weeks ago, took penecillian(harmless, right?) and I am currently in the worst flare in 10 years. AAGGGHHHH

yes!!!!!!! my g.i. tried to put me on 3 or 4 different ones before giving up on them!!!
